- Ottawa, Ontario - Branham Group Inc., a leading global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) analyst and strategic marketing consultancy, today released a report titled "Annual Report on Digital Health in Saskatchewan," which provides an update on the goings on in the health care sector and Digital Health in the province of Saskatchewan over the past year.
Over the past twelve months, Saskatchewan has made significant investments across the spectrum of health care requirements, including infrastructural advances, human resources, and technology. The focus of the government towards ensuring the health care continues to cope with the increasing demand of an ageing population while keeping the system modern and capable of handling needs well into the future is reflected in the 2012-13 budget outlays of the province. Key areas that Saskatchewan continues to focus on include improved choice and access for seniors, and reduced wait times in emergency departments, through both budgetary allocations and proactive implementation of initiatives.
According to Wayne Gudbranson, President and CEO of the Branham Group, "ICT continues to be the key enabler for health care delivery in Saskatchewan. It will play a vital role not only in improving the quality of care to the patient, but also in addressing the shortage of workers in healthcare in the province." He further added, "While there has been significant progress towards achieving the EHR, further investment and resources need to be allocated in coming years to ensure that the province catches up with progress levels achieved in other provinces."
The report has been produced as part of Branham's Digital Health NOW offering, which provides unbiased information and analysis of trends in Digital Health, and an in-depth analysis on the current state of Digital Health deployment in Canadian and international health care regions and organizations.
